SR-AHEC Family Medicine and Pharmacy Residents Arrive
Southern Regional AHEC in Fayetteville is proud to announce new residents scheduled to begin their three-year residency in June 2016.
Family Medicine: This group of allopathic and osteopathic physicians continue Southern Regional AHEC’s mission to increase the number and diversity of primary care providers in their nine-county AHEC region.
Pharmacy: These two PharmD’s will spend the new year in a program that opens doors to more advanced positions, according to Susan Miller, director of pharmacotherapy and the PGY 1 Pharmacy Residency.
“Doing a pharmacy residency opens doors to more advanced pharmacy practice positions, such as clinical pharmacist positions in hospitals and physician clinics,” she said of the one-year program. “The advanced training of a resident gives residents experience in research, leadership, and teaching which positions them well to take faculty positions at schools of pharmacy.”
